About Captains' Educational Enrichment Fund

Purpose: To provide students with hands-on experience managing two real dollar financial portfolios and to serve as an outlet for students to engage in various research competitions. The CEE-Fund is both a student, and a registered 501(c)(3) organization that is dedicated to furthering the education offered at Christopher Newport University students, both personally and professionally. As of 2023, we are hovering around $400,000 of Assets Under Management, with the aim to achieve healthy portfolio growth within our risk tolerance. The CEE-Fund assets are divided between two portfolios, the Endowment Portfolio and the CEE-Fund portfolio. The CEE-Fund operates through three teams; the Finance team who handles portfolio management, the Investment team who manages portfolio construction, and the Operations team, who handles compliance, marketing, and outreach. With the expansion of our portfolios, the CEE-Fund will continue to fund student scholarships within the University. Mission: The CEE-Fund is a 501(c)(3) that enhances the educational experience of all Christopher Newport students through teaching students the true ins and outs of managing a portfolio, providing professional experience in managing a Non-Profit Organization, and funding valuable student initiatives, scholarships, and development of Christopher Newport University. Vision: The CEE-Fund is recognized as the premier developer within the Christopher Newport University community of financial knowledge and literacy as well as non-profit development and management.
