About CapTop

CapTop S.r.l. was founded in 2017 and registered as Start-Up Innovativaed and then was recognized as an academic spinoff of the University of Naples Federico II. CapTop upmanufactures and markets supercaps. It is the only company in Italy, as well as among the few in the world, to offer 3V supercap cells and their modules, up to being manufacturers of systems even hybrid (SC + battery). Our team of experts, highly qualified and distinguished by a specific now-how, provides a service of consulting and customization of products, creating tailor-made modules and systems that meet every need of the customer. Our products are continuously being studied by the CapTop team, in order to improve and innovate their components in terms not only of performance improvement, but also to ensure performance that responds effectively to the need to reduce environmental impact. In this case, three specific lines of research are carried out concerning the study of an electrolyte, innovative electrodes, optimized electronic boards and system interfaces. CapTop has filed a patent on a non-toxic solvent derived from biowaste. This replaces, for the same performance, the traditional acetonitrile used in supercap accumulator cells allowing easy disposal and recycling at the end of life, thanks to the total lack of toxic chemicals. We are currently setting up a production line of supercap modules, thanks to the public support of the Campania Region. This production line also includes the production of LFPT and LTO batteries and will be active from September 2023.
