About Carbon Harvest

We work with our clients to create solutions for soil-based carbon capture, utilizing streams of waste in order to create products of value that generate revenue, address specific eco-social problems, and improve/repair the plant soil ecosystem such that it can function effectively as a carbon sponge. We are currently working with the City of Cincinnati to develop and implement the Cincinnati Biochar Project. This project brings together multiple partners to create a circular economy within the municipal landscape. We will take waste wood from the Parks Department, turn it into biochar, which will then be used for stormwater management and tree plantings aimed at increasing the urban canopy, especially in lower income neighborhoods. To make the project financially self-sustaining, some of the biochar will be sold and the biochar production will generate high value carbon dioxide removal credits that will earn revenue. The project will help make Cincinnati a more climate resilient city.
