About CareerCatchers
CareerCatchers' mission is to help underserved populations, primarily Montgomery County, transition out of poverty through individualized career counseling, skills training, and strategic partnerships. We serve domestic violence survivors, immigrants, individuals experiencing homelessness, and others facing systemic employment barriers. Since receiving our first operating grant in 2008 and 501(c)(3) status in 2009, we've consistently expanded to fill community needs and have helped over 4,000 individuals since inception. In 2024, we served over 1,100 clients—325 intensively—through 4,600 one-on-one coaching sessions and 170 workshops, achieving 250 job placements totaling $9.5 million in new income. Core services include personalized coaching, job readiness workshops, digital skills training, employer connections, job placement assistance, and job retention support. We provide long-term support throughout clients' career advancement journeys. After securing their first job with us, clients return for less intensive services to help them progress up career ladders, ensuring sustainable economic mobility beyond initial placement. In 2024, to meet urgent demand, we introduced the Basic Services Package for unfunded clients, serving 147 additional participants through immediate access to Job Club workshops, weekly job openings, and online resources. Digital literacy training is integrated throughout all programming, offering computer basics, Microsoft Office, and QuickBooks through community partnerships. Sector-focused coaching prepares clients for in-demand, higher-wage, technology-involved roles.
