Recognizing this pivotal moment in a student's journey, CareerConnects emerges as a transformative program designed for 9th to 12th graders. This initiative, helmed by Yale Hospital's first African American Microbiologist and Dr. Labril, MD a Yale graduate in Child Psychiatry, is poised to reshape the trajectory of students' lives through a curriculum based platform, Psychoeducation, teacher professional development and coaching. CareerConnects goes beyond conventional education by offering a dynamic curriculum available online or in person, coupled with specialized teacher training. This program ensures that students receive comprehensive guidance in choosing the right career path. Moreover, the inclusion of volunteer professionals and mentors from diverse career fields provides students with valuable insights, shaping their perspectives and influencing their career decisions. Led by experts in behavioral health, teacher training, and student career counseling, CareerConnects begins its impact early in 9th grade. By instilling a sense of purpose and direction from the outset, students are better positioned to thrive academically, translating into improved grades.
