About Caregiver Cards Alzheimer's and Dementia Communication Cue Cards
Caregiver Cards is a first of its kind product used to help caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's,dementia, or related memory/speech disorders communicate better together. Our goal is to improve communication irregardless of the stage of Alzheimer's and thus improve the quality of life for both the person with Alzheimer's disease and their caregiver. One in eight older American’s (approximately 5.4 million individuals) has Alzheimer’s disease. There are nearly 15 million Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers providing 17 billion hours of unpaid care valued at $202 billion. An older adult that is caring for another with Alzheimer’s has a 60 percent change of dying before the person they’re taking care of because of the stress. Caregiver Card's goal is to help alleviate the stress and improve the quality of life for both the caregiver and individual with Alzheimer's. We aim to help by improving communication. Caregiver Cards is a series of illustrations used by caregivers for communication, prompts and cues with individuals who may have Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or related memory and/or speech disorders. Caregiver Cards is comprised of 2 product lines: 1. a physical deck of illustrations, and 2. a mobile app available for IOS (Apple), Android, Kindle and Nook platforms.
