About Caretakers Cottage
About Us Caretakers Cottage assists kids and young people facing homelessness, providing a range of specialist children, teenage and young peoples services across the East and South East Sydney region. In partnership with Family and Community Services, Community Housing providers and other Government and NGO agencies, we offer a unique program of accommodation, support and after-care services to improve outcomes, reduce homelessness and provide opportunities for stable and independent transition into adulthood. Broadly, we provide two different models of care with the first being Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) run through Caretakers Cottage Youth Refuge, providing crisis accommodation and support for 13 - 17 year olds for up to 3 months and Options Youth Housing, which provides semi-independent transitional accommodation for young people from 16 - 25, who are at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness. The other model of care is Out Of Home Care (OOHC) accommodation specifically for young people who have been placed into the care of the Minister of Community Services. Our OOHC services are intensively staffed and are run through Entity and Horizon.
