He has over three decades experience in the development and manufacture of complex military self protection systems from enabling technology development to worldwide product sustainment. These mission critical products required dependable performance in harsh airborne environments for protection of US and our Allies military aircraft and crews. When self protection equipment is needed, it has to work the first time, every time. The system solutions have to be timely and affordable, reliable, have high performance to defeat advanced technology of enemy weapon systems, sustainable in the field, and have the ability to be upgraded to protect the customer investment and support future mission needs. While leading the creation and delivery of many military avionics systems, Mr. Smith has established a very broad and unique background in business, engineering and manufacturing. His experience and areas of responsibility span across executive leadership, business area profit and loss, product line development, engineering management, manufacturing management, product development, research and development, and multi-disciplined team management. He has performed these activities both domestically and internationally. International business experience includes direct commercial sale (DCS) and foreign military sale (FMS) contracts.
