The CARM Implementers Forum (CARM-IF) is gathering companies to harness technology and make it safer for people to gather in groups. Don’t wait to Get Involved. More and more news speaks of incidents where groups of people were at risk, and ultimately injured or killed by those meaning to harm as many innocent victims as possible. Regardless of the motivation, the victims did not know they were at risk and, in fact, assumed not. Perhaps they were shopping, enjoying a meal at restaurant, a movie or performance at theatre, or simply attending school or at work. Too many innocent lives have been lost. Technology continues to become more capable and computing is ever more a part of our everyday life. One reason for technology becoming so pervasive is that companies collaborate on standards for product interoperability and testing, even when those companies are direct competitors. Industry organizations often include 100s of companies and they have delivered fantastic new capabilities to market, such as USB™, Bluetooth®, and WiFi™. Other organizations have delivered LEED® for more energy efficient buildings and PCI-DSS for dramatic improvements in payment card security. We especially encourage companies in technology, insurance and commercial real estate to join the CARM Implementers Forum™.
