Carola Rytsölä Oy was founded in 1989 in Helsinki, Finland. The Studio has over 35 years of experience in the sectors of interior architecture, product design, lighting consultation, graphic design and concept creation. From 1985 to 1989 Carola Rytsölä studied at IED in Rome, Italy, and immediately founded her own Studio after graduating. The operating culture at the office has a strong Finnish-Italian influence, hence Finnish practicality and an Italian sense of aesthetics are at the core of the Studio. In interior architecture the Studio specialise in hospitality-, commercial-, retail- and residential design, and has extensive experience in carrying out projects of different sizes, combining a range of expertise with a tailored approach that sets it apart. In the implementation of the projects, Carola Rytsölä’s Studio and its trusted partner network collaborates closely with the client in order to achieve their common objective. The Studio’s work is inspired by a sense of functionality, sustainability and aesthetics, while being characterised by originality, open-mindedness and elegance. The design process takes into consideration the history and the context of the work site in a holistic way and pays particular attention to proportions, illumination and distinctive details. Used to confront complex procedures, Carola Rytsölä and her team have designed a wide range of projects, from the micro scale of private residences to the macro scale of commercial spaces and government offices.
