Carolina Community Actions, Inc. (CCA) is a nonprofit agency rooted in the legacy of the 1964 Economic Opportunity Act, part of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty. Officially incorporated on August 2, 1965, CCA was established to serve Chester, Fairfield, Lancaster, and York counties and later expanded to include Union County. Our mission: to eliminate poverty and empower families through education, economic development, and community partnerships. For nearly six decades, CCA has delivered life changing services through federal, state, and community support. Our Head Start and Early Head Start programs have supported generations of families by preparing children from prenatal through age five for lifelong learning. Through the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), we offer a wide range of services • Case Management for self sufficiency • Emergency housing and utility support • Nutrition Assistance • Youth Leadership development for ages 15 to 19 Our LIHEAP program helps households maintain safe temperatures year round by offsetting energy costs, while our Weatherization Assistance Program improves home energy efficiency, lowering bills and increasing comfort. At CCA, we believe in action, advocacy, and opportunity. Every program is designed to strengthen the economic and social fabric of the communities we serve.
