Capital Automotive Reconditioning Services (CARS Recon, Inc.) was formed in January 2003 and began officially serving the auto auction industry at Manheim Pittsburgh on March 17, 2003. Soon after launching operations at the Pittsburgh location, requests from other auctions quickly followed and services were expanded. Originally focusing on detailing, CARS Recon, Inc. began addressing other facets of the reconditioning and operations process including restoration, arbitration and inspection services. CARS Recon, Inc. initially started with just 12 full time employees at a single location, and in the last 15 years of operations has grown to over 700 employees within 32 business units throughout 19 states.
