About CARTaGENE

CARTaGENE is a research platform of the CHU Ste-Justine. CARTaGENE offers access to the biological samples and data from 43,000 individuals, aged 40-69 years, from the province of Quebec to the research community (private and public). CARTaGENE is funded by the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (“CPAC”) and by Génome Québec. The major strength of the CARTaGENE project is that participant data and samples is linked to their medical records at the Régie de l'assurance médicale du Québec (RAMQ) enabling linkage between clinical, lifestyle and environmental and genetic data. This includes diagnoses, hospitalizations and all drug prescriptions since 1998. All participants sign a broad consent form allowing for recontact ensuring the long term sustainability of the project and the longitudinal follow-up.
