About Casalina APS

Started in July 2018, the project came to life with the renovation of a farm, transforming it into a meeting place for the local population, seasonal migrant workers mainly from Africa, and international volunteers. Through periodic volunteer missions and the support of the village inhabitants, Casalina aims to: Promote solidarity towards migrant populations Develop sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture Foster cultural exchanges and the sharing of skills Located amidst wheat fields 5 km from Spinazzola, the Casalina farm offers a serene and lush environment, with a small house and a garden shaded by cherry trees, as well as a pine forest that serves as a camping area. We have adopted sustainable practices such as eco-construction, including a solar shower, composting, dry toilets, rocket stove and wood-fired oven, rainwater collection, and wastewater reuse. Today, Casalina uses one hectare for agricultural projects and manages three olive groves. The BSR collective consists of about twenty volunteers from Brussels and other parts of the world, united by common values of solidarity and ecology, and committed to addressing migration and environmental crises. Our mission is to raise awareness of these contemporary issues and implement projects that defend the rights of refugees, promote natural agriculture and food sovereignty, while valuing cultural exchanges and rural spaces.
