Caskata is a woman-owned, design-driven company committed to making uniquely beautiful products for the home, including tabletop and gift products in porcelain, bone china,textiles and glass. At Caskata, design drives everything we do. Central to that focus is our belief that what we present should be creatively unique. While we pay homage to what is popular and what has come before, our designs remain decidely different and unexpected, and are easily recognizable as Caskata products. With a background in film, Designer & founder, Shawn Laughlin, brings a trained eye for color, composition, motion, and depth to her designs. Underlying her artistic vision is a belief that simplicity combined with restraint creates enduring pieces that can last - and be loved - for a lifetime. Simple, strong, graphic beauty & negative space that figures prominently in the “frame” are hallmarks of Caskata style. According to Laughlin, “Simple elegance and understatement is always in fashion. Looking back through the ages, many things we love have a compositional sensitivity that transcends what we think of as a ‘trend,’ yet in their time they were decidedly ‘contemporary.’ ” An awareness of this historical context allows her to design confidently with a refined contemporary aesthetic. With every piece we make, we hope our customers find inspiration to mix, match, & create their own uniquely personal style statement, and we design everything we make with that in mind. Our favorite moments are spent gathered around the table sharing food and drinks and stories with people we love. We truly believe that every day, and every meal is special, and we’re on a mission to help make it look and feel that way.
