Cassegrain Wines is an acclaimed producer of multi-NSW-region full flavoured, soft and elegant wines. We pride ourselves on our distinct approach to winemaking, marrying the time-honoured traditions of French viticulture with contemporary Australian expertise and cutting-edge technology. We are the most prominent winery on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, home to the 2021 Wine Maker of the Year, one of the few full-suite wine production facilities, and one of only a handful of wineries in Australia that specialises in méthode champenoise, the traditional winemaking method for producing sparkling wine used in Champagne. The Cassegrain family began winemaking in France in 1643. After settling in Australia, they forged the revival of winemaking in the Hastings River region with the planting of the first vineyard near Port Macquarie in 1980. Cassegrain Wines first opened on 16 December 1985. Since then, the winery has enjoyed a lot of success, awards and accolades. In 2021, Alex Cassegrain won Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology’s (ASVO) Wine Maker of the Year. Cassegrain Wines is cherished by both local residents and visitors from the surrounding regions. Nestled amidst lush trees, beautiful gardens, and serene lakes, we offer an enchanting respite for visitors and locals exploring the coastal route. The estate includes Deux Garden restaurant, offering scenic balcony views of our breathtaking vineyard, and an inviting Cellar Door stocked with local produce, wine tastings, and our multi-NSW-region wines available for purchase.
