About Castañer 1927
The first Castañer atelier was founded in 1927. Since then, we have turned a popular form of footwear into a sophisticated product closely associated with design and fashion. Our encounter with Yves Saint Laurent in the 1970s went down in the history of world fashion, and together we created the first wedge espadrille. Today, after 90 years, our product has a worldwide reach, but our essence remains as authentic as it was in 1927: tradition, craftsmanship and natural materials. En 1927 se fundó el primer taller Castañer, desde entonces hemos convertido un calzado de origen popular en un producto sofisticado, estrechamente ligado al diseño y a la moda. Nuestro encuentro con Yves Saint Laurent en los años 70 hizo historia en el mundo de la moda, juntos creamos la primera alpargata con cuña.
