About Caswells Strings

Welcome to Caswells Strings, specialising in instruments, bows and accessories of the bowed-string family. We are a family run business that has served four generations of string players, teachers, and performers. With roots going back over 50 years in the South West of England and in Bristol, we were originally called Hamilton Caswell's, known worldwide for its extensive range of fine instruments and the largest collection of bows in Europe. But, after Hamilton’s retirement, the name Caswells Strings was adopted to carry the business forward as one of Britain's largest suppliers of Violins, Violas, Cellos and Double Basses, and everything that goes with them! We ship mail order across the world but also have a large and fully stocked ‘bricks and mortar’ store just off junction 11 of the M40 in Oxfordshire.
