The Catalyst Capital Group Inc. (“Catalyst” or the “Firm”) is a private equity investment firm founded in June 2002. Catalyst specializes in control and/or influence investments in distressed and undervalued Canadian situations. The Catalyst team collectively possesses more than 40 years of relevant experience in restructuring, credit markets and merchant and investment banking in both the US and Canada. The most senior members of the team have been working together at Catalyst since the Firm’s inception. The Catalyst team has extensive knowledge of and experience in navigating the Canadian capital markets and integrating Canadian restructurings, when necessary, with U.S. and other jurisdictions’ capital market restructuring, regulatory, and political processes. This experience combined with their on-the-ground presence has resulted in Catalyst being one of the preeminent (if not the preeminent) investors in distressed and undervalued situations globally.
