About Catchburn Vineyard
Named after the Catch Burn stream that runs along the bottom of our south facing, 1.5 acre field, Catchburn Vineyard is now a reality. We have recently finished hand-planting 1500 vines including three different varieties: Solaris – a crossing that includes Riesling, Pinot Gris and Muscat Ottonel. Wines made from Solaris regularly win awards and can give fruity aromas and flavours including citrus, stone fruits (apricot, nectarine) and even some tropical fruit (pineapple, banana). Muscaris – a crossing of Solaris and Muskateller. Similar to Muskateller, its wines can be fruity with a fresh acidity. Aromas and flavours range from citrus, nutmeg and musk to tangerine, mango and lychee. Seyval Blanc – a French crossing that is known to make award winning wines giving floral, citrus and herbaceous aromas as well as green fruit (apple, pear) and melon flavours. Hoping for a first harvest in 2026 or 2027 with first wines released in 2027 or 2028 (weather depending!)
