About Cause San Diego

Empowering the San Diego business community to collaborate, face-to-face, about social impact initiatives that make San Diego a better place to live, work, and play. Over the past few decades we have left the issues of improving our communities mostly up to the government and the non-profit sector. The traditional business community has typically been a funder and participated on nonprofit boards. That is no longer good enough. It is time for business leaders to become more active in social impact initiatives. It is time for them to take some of their time and energy and focus it on making San Diego a better place to live, work and play. The next generation of workers are demanding this and our communities need it. But it is not as easy as it should be: there are many disparate organizations making progress, but the business community doesn’t have a cohesive picture. At Cause San Diego we will shine a light on the people and organizations that are driving change. We do this throughout the year along with our signature Cause Conference. During this single day we bring together business leaders (both for-profit and nonprofit), gov’t, education, impact investors, philanthropists, and more to learn about what others are doing and create opportunities for collaboration.
