About CBI Consulting Engineers
CBI Consulting Engineers (Pty) Ltd (formerly the partnership of Campbell, Bernstein & Irving) established itself as a specialist water and wastewater practice in 1944. From the 1950's CBI expanded to include structural, electrical and mechanical engineering and, for a number of years, architecture and quantity surveying. CBI's specialist industrial department focused almost exclusively on the civil, structural and building services aspects of heavy industrial projects, and CBI was the recognized leading South African civil engineering consultancy in the Pulp and Paper Industry.
