The voluntary carbon market (VCM) is a crucial tool for climate action, but it's currently held back by a lack of transparency, high costs, and a fundamental flaw in handling fractional offsets. CBX.Earth is the infrastructure solution designed to fix these issues. We’ve built a network of EVM smart contracts to tokenise carbon credits with some key differences. Firstly, we have one token per project. No tranching; no obfuscation. Secondly, we offer fractional retirements from as little as 10kg of carbon. Finally, we provide NFT receipts directly from registries upon retirement. These three differentiators provide the backbone for a future carbon market more transparent, accessible and fair than today. Our platform serves as both a "Greenwashing Shield," by providing verifiable NFT receipts for every fractional offset, and a "Liquidity Engine," by driving capital more efficiently to the most impactful carbon projects. By tokenising high-quality credits from registries like Verra, we surpass traditional brokers and resolve the usability problems that have hindered earlier blockchain projects. CBX.Earth is not just an incremental improvement; it's the necessary infrastructure to create a more functional, transparent, and equitable carbon market for the future.
