CCHAT (Children's Choice for Hearing and Talking) opened its doors in 1996 with the singular mission of teaching children who are deaf and hard of hearing to develop the necessary listening and spoken language (LSL) skills required for lifelong success. Originally a single classroom of 12 students, CCHAT has evolved to become the premier LSL program for children with hearing loss in the greater Sacramento area. In total, the program serves hundreds of children each year between its Rancho Cordova campus, mainstream services in local school districts, and infant hearing screenings throughout the region.
