As the first and only G-7 country to federally legalize the multi-billion-dollar recreational cannabis industry, Canada is in a position to set an international precedent. The CCTA is focused on education, partnership development, public affairs, and facilitating business development and job creation opportunities for our members. We are inviting cannabis sector leaders and tourism stakeholders of all sizes and from all regions to join our movement and help drive the economic recovery and growth of the industry. With travel restrictions lifting around the world, now is the time to start conversations about Canada's unique cannabis tourism opportunity. According to recent reports, 29% of all active leisure travelers in the US are interested in cannabis-related activities, and adult-use cannabis sales in Canada reached $2.6 billion in 2020.
