About CDMI
The Center for Disruptive Musculoskeletal Innovations (CDMI) is an NSF-sponsored Industry-University Cooperative Research Center (“IUCRC”) that represents an exciting and novel integration of injury prevention, healthcare economics, biomedical science, and clinical medicine. Industry advisors collaborate with university researchers to target novel strategies and technologies that will decrease injuries, lower healthcare costs of injuries that do occur, and improve the management and life of patients with musculoskeletal disease. The mission of the CDMI is to facilitate collaborations between industrial and academic experts in musculoskeletal disorder prevention, healthcare economics, biomedical sciences, and clinical medicine, in order to reduce the costs of primary and secondary injuries, advance technological developments, and add value in the healthcare system through regulation changes, payor reimbursements, and adoption of improved medical technologies and clinical practices. CDMI is composed of three university sites: The University of California, San Francisco, The Ohio State University, and the University of Toledo.
