Das CDP dient der Forschung und Weiterentwicklung von digitalen, intelligenten bzw. „smarten“ Produktentstehungsprozessen, welche heutzutage als „Industrie 4.0“ bezeichnet werden. Das im August 2017 gegründete Comet Center „Center for Digital Production“ ist eine der führenden Forschungs- und Entwicklungsplattformen im Bereich Flexible Fertigungsautomatisierung, Machine-to-Machine Communication und Produktions-netzwerken. Zu den wissenschaftlichen Partnern zählen neben den relevanten Instituten der TU-Wien internationale Institutionen wie die ETH-Zürich und das Karlsruhe Institute for Technology. Der Kreis der Unternehmenspartner umfasst mehr als 40 namhafte Anwender und Technologieanbieter in den Forschungsbereichen des Zentrums. Als Test- und Entwicklungsumgebung steht uns, an unserem Standort in der Seestadt Aspern, die Pilotfabrik Industrie 4.0 der TU-Wien zur Verfügung. The CDP serves the research and further development of digital, intelligent or "smart" product creation processes, which are nowadays called "Industry 4.0". Founded in August 2017, the Comet Center "Center for Digital Production" is one of the leading research and development platforms in the field of flexible manufacturing automation, machine-to-machine communication and production networks. In addition to the relevant institutes of the Vienna University of Technology, the scientific partners include international institutions such as the ETH Zurich and the Karlsruhe Institute for Technology. At our location in the seaside town of Aspern, the Pilotfabrik Industrie 4.0 of the TU Vienna is available to us as a test and development environment.
