Cell Phones for Soldiers is a 501(c)(3) national nonprofit committed to keeping America’s heroes connected. Since 2004, we have provided cost-free communication services and critical resources to active-duty military members and veterans—while protecting the environment through the responsible recycling of mobile devices. Our Impact Since our founding, we have proudly: • Delivered 450 million minutes of free talk time to deployed servicemen and women • Distributed over 8 million prepaid calling cards worldwide • Repurposed or responsibly recycled more than 25 million cell phones, reducing electronic waste in landfills Supporting Veterans Today In 2024, we expanded our mission with the launch of Cell Phones for Soldiers Mobile, offering: • Free phones and one full year of unlimited talk, text, and data to veterans in need • Monthly service for more than 4,000 low-income and homeless veterans • A long-term mission to create a national network of veterans and service organizations, with a goal of connecting 30,000 veterans by 2028 This vital connection provides access to healthcare, housing, employment opportunities, and—most importantly—keeps veterans connected to friends, family, and hope for the future. Expanding Resources • The upcoming Cell Phones for Soldiers App will deliver real-time access to veteran-focused resources, helping veterans connect quickly with organizations ready to serve them. • Through our Helping Heroes Home program, we have provided emergency financial assistance to more than 7,500 veterans and their families during critical times of need.
