About Center for Air and Space Law at the University of Mississippi

The University of Mississippi School of Law offers the first and only LL.M. program in the U.S. offering a combined air and space law postgraduate law degree, at an ABA accredited law school. The LL.M. will provide U.S. and non-U.S. attorneys with a rigorous and unique curriculum in U.S., international, and comparative air and space law. Attorneys can choose from on-campus or online venues, full-time or part-time. The LL.M. in Air and Space Law builds on the law school’s history as a leader in space law dating back to 1965. The law school’s Journal of Space Law, the world’s oldest journal devoted to space law, published its first issue in 1973, and is recognized as one of the preeminent journals in the field of space law. The law school has offered courses in both aviation and space law to its students since 2003, with a Concentration in Remote Sensing, Air and Space Law, offered at the J.D. level since 2007. LL.M. students will benefit from the law library’s resources and electronic databases. It is home to one of the most comprehensive collections of air and space law materials in the world. Additionally, LL.M. students will have access to the University of Mississippi School of Law’s Space Law Archive, a unique repository for records related to the development of air and space law. The Archive also contains the personal correspondence, manuscripts, and professional papers of individuals who dedicated their lives and careers to the development of air and space law, such as Andrew G. Haley, Eilene M. Galloway, and Stephen Gorove. Qualified LL.M. students also have the opportunity to join the editorial board of the Journal of Space Law, and the Manfred Lachs Moot Court Competition Team.
