Through groundbreaking initiatives, we support the advancement of biomedical innovation by helping to bridge the gap between discovery and commercial success. Established in 1983, the Center for Biotechnology is a New York State designated Center for Advanced Technology. Located on the campus of Stony Brook University, the Center for Biotechnology's mission is accelerate the development of bioscience innovations into next-generation biomedical products, facilitate new company formation and expansion, and support the overall growth of the bioscience industry in New York State. Through business and technology development programs, we focused our work on with pre-seed and emerging companies, as well as faculty innovators, to ensure they have the tools and expertise they need to continue to grow and thrive in the marketplace, and thus have a positive economic impact within the community.
