About Center for Exploitation Education

Exploitation Education is an international nonprofit dedicated to preventing digital harm, online exploitation, human trafficking, and child and youth sexual exploitation through trauma-informed, survivor-informed education. We exist to protect the next generations by equipping youth, parents, and educators with the knowledge, tools, and language they need to navigate their physical and online worlds. Founded by expert and educator Tiana Sharifi, Exploitation Education was built in response to a growing national crisis: the normalization of exploitation in youth culture, the rapid rise of digital harms, gender inequality and gender based violence. We believe that every person is deserving of dignity, and that we can make a difference by addressing the root causes of exploitation. Our work is innovative, thought provoking, and effective. Our work includes: • School curriculum and presentations for grades 3 to 12 • Parent tools and education platforms to support digital safety at home • Educator trainings that empower adults to recognize and prevent harm • Partnerships and consulting To date, our programming has reached over 200,000 people across North America. At Exploitation Education, we don’t just respond to exploitation. We work to prevent it before it begins by changing the way we talk about power, consent, boundaries, and technology.
