About Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership, Georgetown University
Founded in 1997, Georgetown University's Center for Public & Nonprofit Leadership supports current leaders and prepares future leaders to work for the public good across all sectors. With a focus on experiential learning, we provide opportunities for Georgetown graduate students to engage in rigorous study, undertake challenging research, and practice the skills that are required of cross-sector leaders. The Center also offers leadership development and executive education programs, including our signature Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate and our new Executive Certificate in Philanthropic Leadership. Through our endowed Waldemar A. Nielsen Chair in Philanthropy— we focus on the intersection of philanthropy and public policy, strengthening the efforts of using philanthropy to address systemic social problems. The Center also creates and leads customized training programs for foundations, international organizations, national nonprofit associations, and other nonprofits and government entities. Ranging from topics like leadership development for emerging leaders to customized management training for foundation staff, each program is designed through a process consisting of a needs assessment, goal and outcome setting, and curriculum customization. The Center for Public & Nonprofit Leadership is recognized globally for its academic excellence, its campus, and community partnerships, and continues to carry out its impactful work within public service worldwide.
