About Center for Real Dialogue
Our mission is to increase the use of healthy conflict in order to welcome difference and disagreements between people. Human beings use conflict like fire, for both destructive and creative purposes. Destructive conflict or conflict avoidance leads to dehumanization, stereotyping, rage and war. Healthy conflict leads to increased self-awareness, problem-solving, creativity and love. All human projects from science to art, from technology to government, and from religion to relationships require the welcoming and embracing of disagreements and differences. Everything we do requires a difficult conversation in order to do it well. The Center for Real Dialogue offers education and training in skills and methods of facilitation for speaking and listening in difficult conversations.
