Center for the Study of Services (CSS) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization with decades of experience in healthcare surveys, research, analysis, and reporting. We work with research organizations, Federal agencies, health plans, healthcare providers, and State insurance exchanges to measure, report, and improve the experiences healthcare consumers and patients. We specialize in: Survey Research. We administer hundreds of surveys sent to millions of people annually, surveying members about health plans and patients about their doctors and health outcomes. We hold numerous CAHPS certifications, including HEDIS, MA & PDP, ACO, PCMH, ICH, and QHP CAHPS. Data Analysis. Our analyses include scoring, weighting, case-mix adjustment, key driver analysis, opportunity analysis, comparison to internal and external benchmarks, and calculation of data reliability. Reporting. CSS delivers comprehensive reports and fully annotated data files that give users quick, targeted access to results. Provider Directories. CSS works with insurance exchanges to build directories of providers to facilitate comparison of health plans based on provider participation. Cost Modeling. CSS works with insurance exchanges to develop actuarial cost models that allow consumers, navigators, and exchange leaders to compare premiums and estimates of out-of-pocket costs across plans. Health Plan Comparison Tools. CSS creates tools that compare cost, provider participation, and quality of health care planss to aid consumers in choosing plans that best fits their needs. Public Quality Reporting Systems. CSS works with Federal Agencies, Health Insurance Exchanges, and coalitions to design and implement public quality reporting systems that enable consumers to meaningfully compare the quality of doctors or health plans. Direct to Consumer Publications. CSS has direct-to-consumer publications that carry no advertising and offer evaluations of service firms in their local markets.
