About Central Connecticut State University Political Science Club
The CCSU Political Science Club aims to inform the newest generation of voters in a nonpartisan manner by demonstrating how different fields of study interact with politics and public policy. The club strives to achieve three goals: 1.) Encourage large and informed student voter turnout. 2.) Ensure that politicians consider students when passing laws. 3.) Spark student engagement on campus. By hosting panels and discussions between professors, students, and politicians, the CCSU Political Science Club is working toward an 85% average voting rate for all students, improving from the self-reported 69.5% campus voting rate outlined in the campus’s 2020 National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement Report (NSLVE). Students should be civically engaged and informed, which is why the CCSU Political Science Club is working to provide opportunities for students to register to vote while hosting informative and substantive discussions.
