About Central Counties Tourism
Welcome to Central Counties Tourism! We’re an independent, non-profit Tourism Organization (RTO 6) established within the Ontario regional framework to play a lead role in the continued development of a dynamic, competitive and rewarding tourism industry across the Central Counties region – a geographic area that includes the regional municipalities of York and Durham,as well as the local municipalities that make up the Headwaters tourism region. Situated on the borders of the city of Toronto, the Central Counties region is home to more than 20,000 businesses involved in the tourism sector and enjoys the benefits of having 150 million people living within a day’s drive. At Central Counties Tourism, our goal is to coordinate tourism growth within our region. We collaborate with public and private industry stakeholders on strategic marketing initiatives, compile key research, develop innovative product offerings and act as an information resource for our partners and organizations that want to work with them. We believe sustainable, long-term regional tourism growth requires a commitment to best practices, detailed planning and research-based insight.
