About Centre for Applied Energy Economics and Policy Research (CAEEPR)
The global energy sector is undergoing a pivotal transition towards a low-carbon economy, bringing significant technological, economic, and social disruption. The Centre for Applied Energy Economics and Policy Research (CAEEPR) is a collaborative partnership between Griffith Business School and key participants in Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM). At CAEEPR, we are committed to unlocking the energy sector’s potential to achieve emissions reductions, foster inclusive and sustainable growth, and support prosperous businesses and communities. Our expertise in electricity economics and policy analysis positions us as a leader in addressing the challenges of the energy transition. We use advanced National Electricity Market models to develop and analyze scenarios that assess the impacts of policy positions on generator dispatch and transmission efficiency, enabling evidence-based decision-making. Our objectives include: -> Refining and applying the Australian National Electricity Market (ANEM) Model to evaluate pathways for decarbonization. -> Producing applied energy economics research and delivering actionable policy insights through briefings and reports. -> Promoting sustainable partnerships, information sharing, and collaboration to drive impactful policy and research outcomes. -> Enhancing sector capability by developing a diverse, flexible pipeline of talent and human capital.
