About Centre for Evidence Based Drug Policy

The Centre for Evidence Based Policy is a policy forum promoting evidence-based assessment of drugs policy and its implications. Our overall aim is to enable authoritative and informed consideration of drug policy reform that could reduce the public harm caused by drugs as well as enabling the potential benefits for patients from medicines whose potential is prevented or reduced by the current legal and regulatory framework. We have no specific policy ambitions other than enabling medicines from proscribed drugs, but we will encourage widespread Parliamentary support for an independent evidence-based review of current drug policy. We are determined to only proceed on the basis of evidence and are proud to have secured an honorary Policy Advisory Council of the highest reputation who will help us to achieve this balance. Our policy advisory councillors are world leaders in their fields, representing healthcare and medicine, law and law enforcement, business and economics, ethics and human rights, politics and policy analysis. Formally known as the Conservative Drug Policy Reform Group, as our reputation for impactful, impartial and high-quality work has grown, so has our support and we have rebranded to further build on this. The Centre for Evidence Based Policy does not financially or otherwise support any specific political party or its candidates we run public campaigns to enable evidence-based drug policy reform for the benefit of everyone in society.
