CLEA is a transdisciplinary research centre at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) founded in 1995. Our mission is twofold. To counter fragmentation and confusion, we try to integrate the results of the different disciplines (physical, biomedical and social sciences, and the humanities) into coherent worldviews that answer the Big Questions on origin and meaning. On the more practical level, we try to develop a toolbox of concepts and practices that helps people tackle cross-border issues and wicked problems.
