The primary service of our company is Civil Engineering with special emphasis on Geotechnical Engineering. We have been involved in thousands of projects over the past years including schools, churches, office buildings, industrial parks, hotels, parking decks/garages, bridges, dams, and many other special projects. Michael J. Giampietro, P.E. and Mary Jude Cernica, B.A. are carrying on the tradition of quality engineering with utmost integrity and humility. We strive to be the leader in the engineering field and are committed to excellence, dedication, quality, ethics, honesty, and pride in all the projects in which we are involved and in providing appreciation to those to whom we serve. John N. Cernica, P.E., Ph.D. was the owner and principal of Cernica Engineering, Inc. of Youngstown, Ohio. Dr. Cernica established the company in 1962 after graduating from Carnegie Mellon University in 1957. Dr. Cernica had been licensed in 22 states and wrote 7 textbooks including Strength of Materials, Soil Mechanics, and Geotechnical Engineering. Several of the books have been translated into Spanish, Chinese, and even Arabic. Dr. Cernica also held certifications in many areas of engineering, had received many awards and accolades in this field, and has been named Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Men of Science
