About Chain of Things
Chain of Things is seeking development on a ‘future resistant’ open protocol solution to the looming security threat posed by the tens of billions of IoT devices coming soon to a neighborhood near you. We believe a collaborative global effort is the most effective means to establish a secure, decentralized standard for safe and effective large scale IoT device deployment. While very optimistic on the macro implications of IoT, we are firm believers in proper due diligence and risk mitigation. The first in a series of global events, our objective is to bring the greatest minds in Blockchain technology and IoT together to address this conundrum. While we all want to build ‘fun’ IoT widgets, Chain of Things must first address the elephant in the room. It is time to take IoT security seriously. Whether you are a government, corporation or startup, this is your chance to participate in an open collaboration challenge to lay the foundation for this future ecosystem. Chain of Things was formed by a group of technologists at the nexus of IoT hardware manufacturing and alternative Blockchain applications. At the base of the chaotic IoT supply chain and manufacturing stack, we saw a clear threat to the future stability of IoT and a need to explore alternative solutions to the traditional data sandbox. Our core competencies range from sensors, end to end manufacturing, communication protocols, and data analytics, to blockchain, open protocol hackathons, crypto law, global macroeconomics, and design. We launched some of the first Blockchain hackathons in the world and have produced a large number of globally deployed industrial & environmental IoT sensors. Our initial focus is on the security of broad scale industrial IoT so that it is able to securely reach its full potential and positively affect the social, economic, and environmental well being of the of humanity and the planet.
