About Chalk Ink

In the early years of my career I was fortunate enough to have worked with Whole Foods Market. I became a member of their store opening team as a designer for several regions and was closely involved in the company’s growth. In 2001, I founded Studio Image, Inc., a retail consulting company focusing on design finishes, sign fabrication and installation. One of the elements featured in retail spaces at that time were chalkboards. Frustrated with the lack of chalkboard tools, in classic “Entrepreneurial-Danielle" fashion, I decided to create my own. Four years later, I pioneered a marker never before seen and introduced the original liquid chalk marker, Chalk Ink®. That’s right. The Original! You’ve probably seen our colors in action at your local Starbucks, Panera and Whole Foods Market, to name a few. Our brand also produces chalkboard accessories such as labels, mini stake signs, chalkboard paint, wallpaper, and much more. What sets us apart from our competition are our colors (46 and counting) and quality. Our products fit into many categories including housewares, paint, craft, party supplies, weddings, office and garden. Our team is made up of professional designers, artists and organizers ready to assist with any design project you may have. We are based in Austin and are proud to be a certified Women-Owned Business.
