About Challenge Testing

Challenge Testing is a geotechnical engineering company with roots to the mid 1950's. Small in size but broad in scope, we've led or taken part in significant projects at ports, on waterways, and in challenging coastal and inland locations around the world. Our Soil Borings/Field Exploration team offers comprehensive sampling services including geotechnical soils borings, marine sediment sampling, vibracore sampling, hydrographic engineering surveys, and well monitoring. For more than 25 years, we've worked with the Jacksonville office of the US Army Corps of Engineers in sediment sampling projects covering the state of Florida from the Keys through the Everglades to waterways through the Panhandle. Beach re-nourishment projects have taken us from Miami to Palm Beach and Tampa - with offshore marine sediment sampling and vibracore work under bridges, in ship channels and wherever the need takes us. Most recently, Challenge has been the select Soil Sediment Sampling firm tasked over the past year with major post-Hurricane Maria flood control initiatives at Guajataca Dam and the Port of Arecibo in Puerto Rico. Our Non-Destructive Testing division offers Radiographic X-Ray, Ultrasonic and Visual examinations with a 30 year history of crane inspections at ports around the world: Taiwan; Dutch Harbor, Alaska; the Bahamas; the Port of Mobile, Alabama; Trinidad; Gibraltar, Spain; and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Additional laboratory examination capabilities include concrete and metals testing to most governing standards - offering one of the few FAA-Certified Repair Stations in the area.
