About changing-lives Switzerland
changing-lives Switzerland is a nonprofit organization that provides funding and support to grassroots initiatives in Asia and Africa, with a special focus on Cambodia and Uganda, where our affiliate and subsidiary organizations KYC and Northwind Foundation are located. Our mission is to empower youth from low-income backgrounds, particularly those with limited access to formal education, by equipping them with practical skills for decent work and life, promoting digital learning, advancing education for sustainable development, and fostering social entrepreneurship. We strive to provide equitable access to quality education, vocational training, start-up capital, and opportunities that enhance self-employability and job creation, thereby reducing inequality, youth unemployment, and poverty. Since our inception in 2009, we have witnessed significant positive changes in the lives of the young people we support, the effectiveness of the NGOs we partner with, and the overall hope and resilience in the communities we serve. At changing-lives, we view education as the gateway to escaping poverty. We are committed to paving the way to a dignified life for young people by offering them real chances for the future through access to better education, basic medical care, financial literacy, and vocational skills training. By working hand-in-hand with local communities, we aim to inspire and empower those with the potential for a life of dignity and contribute to the global effort of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDGs 1, 4, 5, 8, 10, and 17. We believe that by investing in the potential of young people, we are not only changing lives but also transforming communities for a brighter, more equitable future. We aspire to continually improve the living conditions of youth in the long term, socially integrating them and actively addressing key issues such as employment, guiding them towards the best possible futures.
