About Chantel Elshout Studio

With 18 years experience working in interiors, Chantel has built up an extensive portfolio of inspired and thoughtful designs for local and international clients. She is inspired by diverse cultures and styles, striving for distinctive interiors suited for today's challenging lifestyle. Starting off as researcher and stylist for the Sunday Times Home, Sunday Times Style, Homes & Gardens as well as Elle Decoration her style encompass classic contemporary interiors. From here she embarked on a career in kitchen design and for the next 6 years she concentrated working on High End Residential & Small Luxury Developments building up an impressive repertoire. During this time she has been Highly Commended for Kitchen Designer of the Year by Designer Magazine in 2007 and 2008 and many of her projects have been featured in leading industry magazines. In the course of the 6 years, she started getting involved in designing bathrooms, cinema rooms and living room joinery which whet her appetite to be responsible for the overall interior. ‘I wanted to be involved in every aspect of the design in order to create a strong, cohesive look which ultimately gives each project a beautifully polished look without being ostentatious.’ By fusing together her technical background with her earlier styling experience, the result is a graceful interior only achievable by the hard work and experience she brings to each project. However, she is not daunted by using new techniques or sourcing innovative products. ‘My aspiration on each project is to translate the client's personality whilst creating a functional and aesthetically pleasing living space.’
