About Chapel Petrassi

Established in April 2015 in Italy, Chapel Petrassi is a manufacturing studio at the border between art and design specialized in handcrafted wood sculptural furniture and applied arts. The project is co-founded by Paris born designer Marie-Charlotte Bassi and Diego Petroso, an Italian visual artist. Chapel Petrassi’s works are characterized by a strong contemporary identity and a bold combination of wood with geometric shapes and vivid colors and are entirely handmade in Italy after a meticulous planning session and an accurate execution. Chapel Petrassi uses different languages and visual codes such as design, architecture, contemporary art and graphic design. Craftsmanship and tradition merge with aspects and visions of the contemporary culture. Chapel Petrassi’s projects have been presented in different institutions and international exhibitions such as Klokgebouw at Dutch Design Week (Eindhoven,2015); Ventura Lambrate 2016 during Fuorisalone in Milan (Milan, 2016); Objects of Desire exhibition at Design Museum Of Helsinki (Helsinki, 2016); Venice Design 2016, curated by Dutch non-profit organization Global Arts Affairs Foundation during 15th International Venice Architecture Biennale 2016 (Venice, 2016); Tent London at London Design Festival (London, 2016).
