About ChaplainWatch
ChaplainWatch is a faith-based chaplaincy-inspired charity based in Queensland, Australia. At ChaplainWatch our mission is 'watching out for you when good times go bad'. We do this through gap-filling, innovative crisis chaplaincy solutions for our community. We undertake our mission in a number of project areas: NightWatch Chaplaincy Community Crisis Chaplaincy Vaks.org.au Queensland Disaster Chaplaincy Network NightWatch is a unique, non-authoritarian service operating in Queensland's entertainment precincts overnight every weekend , via foot patrols and vehicular patrols and operating NightSafeRest and Recovery Centres in all cities we serve. The NightWatch team offers a range of services supporting public safety in public spaces, including: crisis intervention; conflict diversion and resolution, first aid, mental health first aid, guidance, secondary victim support and welfare assistance. The NightWatch Chaplaincy service works cooperatively with other official services including Police, Ambulance, City Council, venue management and security, taxi operators and other entertainment precinct stakeholders. VAKS stand for 'Vans and Kitchens' and vaks.org.au provides a centralised place where services providing free and cheap meals can register the times and places that services are provided. Anyone requiring these services can log onto the VAKS website and utilise the simple search functions to plan their next meal. Community Crisis Chaplaincy provides a chaplaincy response when destabilising and traumatic incidents occur in our community, providing support, information, referral and care to help the community recover. We are proud foundational members and a lead agency in the Queensland Disaster Chaplaincy Network - An ecumenical, coordinated chaplaincy response to evacuation centres and community recovery following natural and major disasters in Queensland.
