About Charlestown Resident Alliance

The Charlestown Resident Alliance, Inc. (“CRA”) is the democratically-elected, nonprofit tenant organization formally recognized by the Boston Housing Authority to represent the interests of the more than 1,100 households who currently reside at New England’s largest federal public housing development, the Bunker Hill Apartments, located in Charlestown, Massachusetts. The current CRA board was elected to negotiate, and otherwise advocate, on behalf of all the affordable housing residents through a one billion dollar, mixed-finance public-private joint venture to completely demolish and redevelop the public housing over the period of the next 10 years into a community of about 3,000 mixed-income residential and commercial units. Our Mission… We, Charlestown Resident Alliance, are committed to keeping and preserving the rights of our residents residing at the Bunker Hill Development. We at the CRA, will work vigorously in addressing the needs of our children and families by ensuring that their quality of living will improve. For this purpose, we promise to work tirelessly by advocating for subsized and and equal housing oppotunities. Charlestown Resident Alliance is determined in working in unison with our residents by keeping them informed and connected to vital resources. Our mission furthermore is to provide guidance and direction to our youth to steer them into their highest potential because they are they are our future. As our community is currently withstanding redevelopment, CRA aims to assist and aid a smooth transition for all BHA residents with the expectation one hundred percent will return.
