About Charlie Allen Renovations
For more than three decades, Charlie Allen Renovations has restored and renovated scores of period homes large and small in the Greater Boston area, from modest one or two room projects to full house remodeling and restoration. When Charlie Allen came to Cambridge, MA from Washington State in 1966 to attend Harvard, he was struck by the architectural richness and diversity of the city's streetscapes. Raised by a do-it-yourselfer, he wasn't afraid to pick up a hammer and soon found himself working nights and weekends as a contractor, renovating and restoring period homes. In 1978, he founded Charlie Allen Renovations. For more than three decades, Charlie and his team, including company president Julie Palmer, have established a reputation for thoughtful, creative, successful, and respectful remodeling and restoration of period houses of all kinds. They have been recognized with local, regional, and national awards for their work and both Charlie and Julie have held leadership positions with national trade organizations.
