About CHARM-EU
European University Alliance | Creating the university of the future | Reconciling humanity with the planet CHARM-EU is the Challenge-driven, Accessible, Research-based and Mobile European University Alliance. We are creating a new university model that will equip students with the skills they need for the future. The Alliance is made up of nine institutions: • Universitat de Barcelona • Trinity College Dublin • Utrecht University • Eötvös Loránd University International • Université de Montpellier • Åbo Akademi University • Julius-Maximilians University Würzburg • Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences • University of Bergen Launched in 2019, CHARM-EU is co-funded by the Erasmus+ project and is designed to enable mobility among students and staff. It is a leader in educational excellence, inclusivity, diversity and sustainability. Our programmes focus on addressing the challenges of the 21st century and are aligned with European values, the European Green Deal, and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. The CHARM-EU model will further the quality, international competitiveness and attractiveness of the European Higher Education landscape. CHARM-EU launched the first joint Master’s in Global Challenges for Sustainability in September 2021. This course embraces new technologies and fosters innovation, mobility and flexibility in the educational experience. CHARM-EU students are active, independent partners in their learning; they collaborate with academics and industry partners to design, deliver and evaluate the CHARM-EU curriculum and develop their own learning pathways to fulfil their interests and ambitions. TORCH is the research arm of CHARM-EU. TORCH (Transforming Open Responsible Research and Innovation through CHARM) aims to develop a common Research & Innovation agenda for the European Universities initiative.
